Bring Your Ideas To Life

Product Design, Prototyping, Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing Support

Our History

For more than 15 years we’ve been developing world-class engineering solutions in ocean technology, agricultural, defense and medtech sectors. We tinker, brainstorm, prototype, dream, test and take pride in solving complex problems in simple ways. This is much more than a job, it’s a burning passion.

Previous Work

  • Specifically, what makes you different?
We are a group of senior consultants that work together to design your product from the ground up. Each person on this team has 10 to 20 years of experience in mechanical and electrical design. Our IT consultant has >25 years. In a sentence, the experience allows us to do more for less by charting a course that will lead to product/device/platform success quickly. We save you time and money in the long run by doing it right the first time. Having worked together on several large projects we have the wrinkles ironed out and we have a thorough and honest understanding of our abilities. We routinely make personal investments in the companies we work with and bring in other investors as well. In a sentence, we become part of your team and look to add value at every turn.
  • Can you make high-fidelity prototypes?
We are routinely asked to develop one-off prototypes that people can use for fundraising, show and tell or tradeshows. A mixture of casting, machining, metal fabrication, 3D printing and even woodworking has been used in the past.
  • Do you provive in-house prototyping and manufacturing services?
We do much of the prototyping that our clients need in-house. This includes proof-of-concept development and short production up to about 200 assembled units depending on the complexity and number of parts. We have built several close working relationships that help with machining, metal fabrication, assembly, test and assembly above the volumes we take on. Our work often includes putting together inspection documents and assembly guidelines and we work closely with our partners to ensure quality. The process of putting together these documents is oddly satisfying as you're pushed to go back and think through every tiny little step for assembly.
  • Can you develop prototypes and proof of concept products without going through all of the stages above?
It really depends on where the concept is in terms of development when it lands on our desk. If a prototype is needed as a first step to test viability of a go/no-go feature, then this is where we start. The steps in the process above are meant as a guide only. In reality, the process is fluid and we fit it to your needs.
  • Do you provide services for more traditional engineering such as HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, residential beam design, truss design, septic design, concrete foundation design etc?
Unfortunately, we can't help you with any of these items. It’s just not where our experience lies or where we have fun!

What our customers think

"Lee helped us reach our production goal to improve the yield from 50% to 100%. He is the perfect mechanical designer for fast moving start-ups and always presented his ideas with 3D models. This really helped us visualize and process different design options. He made it very easy to communicate our feedback and always had a quick turnaround on updates.

Lee also introduced us to local shops that improved our ability to quickly produce components and we're still very happy to work with them."
